I. Hate. Chem. Lab.
So yesterday we had our chem lab final. After the exam, I came home while cooking dinner, I checked my phone. I saw that I had a missed call and a voicemail. When I checked the voicemail, it happened to be my professor for that class. She called to tell me they couldn’t find my test booklet. As if it wasn’t stressful enough to take the exam, I had to deal with this. So I called her and she told me they couldn’t find it but I knew for a fact that it was there because I set it on the table but she was like “oh maybe you accidentally took it with you” and i just said “uhhh no….because i didn’t put anything in my backpack except my pencil” but I told her i’d check anyways so I did and of course it wasn’t there so I asked her if they had my scantron and she told me they did but if they don’t have the booklet i’ll get a 0 anyways. So of course I was freaking out because I know I didn’t do anything wrong and it’s not something I can control because it’s an error on their part. So I was just like “uh that’s weird. I know for a fact I put it there” and then a few seconds later she says “oh we found it. thank you” and I had nothing to say except “…………..thanks…………”
AND THENNNNN today during lab my lab ta was like “I’m so sorry about last night. I’m sorry she called you and everything” and I just said “……..it’s..okay i guess….” After I cleaned out my locker and everything he tells me that he’s sorry again for last night but then he also said “yah I’m sorry she called your parents and everything” and so I was shocked and didn’t know what to say except “oh…yah…” I didn’t know she called my parents, I thought she only called my cousin because my cousin called my last night about it too. I didn’t think she called my parents about this. You’d think they’d just discuss this with me without having to talk to my parents about it because i’m an ADULT but…I guess not.
This whole ordeal was just so weird and ridiculous for me. I mean, I’ve never heard of a professor calling you about a test book or calling your PARENTS about it. And they could’ve definitely looked THOROUGHLY before having to call me about it. Ugh. Making it seem like I was the one who did something wrong.
